Now we are moving this step a little bit forward with professional recordings of original songs of my own. I used to be a recording artist in the 90’s. 20 years ago I had my band in my country but because of destiny I had to postpone these dreams. Now they are back and we’ll do something beautiful from this. What more beautiful than doing this with your own family?” says Mauricio Urzua, leader of the band.

From Santa Cruz, California to all over the world, StatiK is a Rock Pop Alternative band and a family project with a lot to say. Some of their lyrics touches extremely heavy and dramatic topics. “We tell different stories of life like war, human power, inequality, poverty, love, illness, loneliness…etc. That’s the “StatiK” we want to produce. We want to create interference in your brain so people stops what they are doing, meditate and understand the message we are trying to deliver,” says his vocalist and guitar player Mauricio Urzua, born in Santiago, Chile.

StatiK is releasing an extended production with 13 songs called “Otra Oportunidad” (Another Opportunity.) There are 2 songs as singles. One call “En Mi Pais” (In my Country) with a video in Spanish. This one is a real story about a friend who had to escape his country with his family. His father due to political reason was tortured and became war prisoner for 2 years. After his liberation all the family had to escape due to their extradition to the USA in the 70’s when he was 13 years old. His Father lived here in California for more than 40 years. After all these years in the States, his Father decides to go back to his old country where he escaped many years ago. He lived there for a couple of years and then dies. Then his sons –our friend in his 50’s now– has to go to his Father’s country for his burial. In this foreigner land; which saw him as a kid and where he was born; he encounters his feeling, memories when he was a child and different sensation about his Father’s suffering. He forgets his land from his Father’s pain. Is a true story of forgiveness and reconciliation while he walks streets of his country.

The second single is called “Budapest.” This song goes back to old Europe in 1943 to Hungary and the Nazi occupation. It talks about the horror of war, their terror, pain and misery. Also talks about the irony of some Nazi’s operations to escape Europe with fake identities and Jewish passports. It’s a song with a strong message for our young people because some of them don’t even know what the Holocaust is. This song is a lament and a remembrance about all those missing souls. There song comes with two video versions, one in English and a second one in Spanish. The video is a documentary and a warning call to parents about what our kids can see in the internet and the messages they can get from the wrong people. Human race tends to forget history and their mistakes
